Does Design Care…? Workshop

During the last 2-days in the Imagination Lab at Lancaster University, UK, we have welcomed researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines to to explore what it means to care now as part of our International Workshop of Design Thought and Action. We are really pleased to have seen participation from an international community with some attendees travelling from as far as the USA, New Zealand, Australia, China, Israel and Japan.

The workshop has explored different ways to conceptualise, provoke, contest and disrupt care, and has served as a venue for synthesising future visions of care.  We have produced a publication compiling papers from all attendees, available for download here: Does Design Care…? One of the workshop activities has resulted in a first draft of the collaboratively authored “Lancaster Care Charter”.  We will share this once it has been further developed.
